It's that time again, second book choices!

Hey Everyone,

I'm going to keep this post short and simple. It's time to choose our next book!! Everyone pick their top 3 choices and then we can make our vote.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone's picks are!

Just a heads up Heather has graciously offered her house for second book club meet up and I hear there may be a latte bar!! mmmmm........ can't wait, so let's get choosing our book!

Have a great night!

I actually got The Violets of March for my birthday, and I am totally engrossed with it! I think it would make a great discussion book, and it's not too long for those of us lucky enough to be on VACATION! hehe

I am also game for any others. :)

I would also like to volunteer my place for the next book club meeting. I was inspired by Maia's bagel bar idea, so I want do a Latte Bar with biscotti and finger sandwiches! I make a mean Soy Green tea Latte and Eggnog Latte! heheh

That's great Heather, a latte bar will be awesome! Let us know what date works when you can (still tons of time).

I would still also love to read the Violets of March. My only other idea is this one - The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes

In 1977, pregnant Genevieve Russell disappeared. Twenty years later, her remains are discovered and Timothy Gleason is charged with murder. But there is no sign of the unborn child.

CeeCee Wilkes knows how Genevieve Russell died, because she was there. And she knows what happened to her missing infant, because two decades ago she made the devastating choice to raise the baby as her own. Now Timothy Gleason is facing the death penalty, and she has another choice to make. Tell the truth and destroy her family. Or let an innocent man die in order to protect a lifetime of lies.

Hailed as a "marvelously gifted author" by Literary Times, internationally bestselling author Diane Chamberlain weaves deep emotion into this electrifying page-turner as she examines the consequences of a mother's desperation, her love gone too far and a decision that blurs the line between right and wrong.

The author has been compared to Jodi Picoult, who's books I really like.

Since Harmeet is away we won't wait for a suggestion from her. Cheryl is also away until next friday so I am not sure if she will be able to vote, but I will send her a text :)

Okay, so it looks like the Violets of March it will be. I heard it is really good so I am excited to read it. I will let the others know and I will download it on Kobo soon.

I am reading Shanghai girls right now and it is realy good, I highly reccommend it! It's almost as though it is keeping with the theme of the other boleyn girl as it centers on relationships between sisters, and Women's position in society, although in a completely different story line.

I also have a special request to make. I have the final exam for my course on November 24th, can the next meeting be after this date? Let me know if that works for you Heather (and everybody else).

Thanks!

Hey everyone! Sorry i didn't vote last time, I was in the Okanagan for a week and it was pretty busy. I have a few idea's for the next book we could read as well, so I will post them when we vote next time. The 27th works for me, and I can drive my awesome mom car.... and I will be bringing Cheyanne, hopefully that's okay! She is such a wonderful baby! You will all fall in love instantly and want one of your own ;)

I look forward to seeing you all again next week!

Hello ladies! Sorry I was missing in action the last few weeks and it's been hectic since I came back! I'm going to try and get the book and finish it this week, but if I can't I'll have to skip it this time, sorry!! :(
Latte bar sounds fabulous though!
